5A REAL DEAL PEDAL!  Jul 01, 2009 By Bassman "Joey"
I was hesitant to believe it, but this coolcat series of pedals are every bit as good as Boss. They have true bypass, which means no loss of signal when you turn off pedal. Great classic sounds, silent switching, metal construction, and REAL input/output jacks. Worth every penny for half the price of the other guys!

Where to start.... I have never used anything from danelectro before. I've seen their pedals in a store here where I live but always figured they were just cheap knock-off pedals. I was wrong. This pedal is quite good for the price. I have really enjoyed it since it arrived, and will continue to enjoy it for as long as I own it. Great little pedal and you can't go wrong on the price.

5Well Worth The $30.74 after tax's  May 20, 2011 By NiNirvanaK
I Bought this Danelectro Metal pedal on the odd chance it was their copy of the EH Pocket Metal Muff. I really liked the EH PMM but it was passive bypass(it sucked tone) and it also made a weird upper octave noise in the background thru my amp when playing solo's above the 12th fret. I'm happy to report the The Danelectro Metal 2 IS a copy of the EH PMM and it sounds pretty identical, But it lacks all the issues I had with the EH pedal. No weird upper octaves and since the Dano pedal has true-bypass it dosen't suck any tone.
If you play ANYTHING(and i mean anything short of blues mabye), trust me you can find a use for this pedal. I don't even have the distortion knob past 2 o'clock and this has all the heavyness anybody could ever use. This has got me checking out the other Dano Cool Cat pedals just because it's a GREAT VALUE and you get what you pay for and then some. The metal cases on these pedals is every bit as tough as any boss or die-cast EH/MXR size pedal that I've used. Only thing I don't like is the plastic battery door on the bottom and mabye the hard plastic cover that hides the true-bypass switch. But, I don't really see that as a reason to NOT buy any Cool Cat pedals.....If you take care of your gear it'll last(I've got 2 Boss pedals from 1982 that are still working great).
If I had to describe this pedals tone I'd say it's a cross-between a Electro-Harmonix Big Muff and a Pro Co. Rat pedal. It has the Big Muff's Huge Bottom and the Rat's high -end rasp/ clear notedness(considering the ammount of distortion it has). Plus, I'd say it has WAY more distortion then either of those boxes.

5This pedal is Required period.  May 07, 2011 By Bodinethwise
This pedal is absolutly awesome! I highly suggest it, this thing has some awesome metal power and it sounds great! Despite my cheap guitar and distortion-less practice amp, It sounds amazing! If you like to play metal this would be right up your alley, This would also be really good for a punk sound too. I just think if you wanted a good versitle pedal that is a good price, you have found it.
