4Great pedal for the price  Jan 16, 2011 By Steve Bates
I bought this used for $25, and it's been worth every penny. I have noticed the volume boost that other reviewers have mentioned, but changing the value of a single resistor will fix that, if it really bothers you. When the other options include the substantially more expensive Univibe or Soulvibe, the effort expended by changing out a 15-cent resistor is worth it.

Because of the low price, I was expecting a pedal that sounded mediocre at best, but this has a surprisingly lush sound. It probably would not do for high end recording, but it sounds great live. And for the price, I haven't heard better.

3Volume boost with a dash of vibe.  Feb 08, 2011 By I. M. Wise "Turbo"
Like so many others, I purchased this pedal as an inexpensive alternative to high-priced vibrato effects. This pedal does exactly what it is intended for; whether it be a subtle swirl or an insane, almost unusable swoosh effect. If you use A/C power, which you should, the A/C connector has to fight for a spot to rest, but it is manageable. Mix, speed, and intensity knobs give you great control over the effect, and the pedal is very tough. As many have pointed out, the downsides to this pedal are: a very large, immediate volume boost when the effect is engaged (I can turn the volume on my Strat from 10 down to about 2 to compensate); and, there is a noticeable delay from the time the switch is engaged to the time that the effect is actually heard. With this in mind, I still own the pedal and still use it regularly, although if something happened to this one I can't say that I would replace it with another unless Dan'o comes out with a 2nd Gen Vibe that wipes out these problems.

4Solid Vibe with only one small issue....  Dec 28, 2010 By Xanthian68
I really love this pedal. It has a great vintage sound and look, and is very customizable. The only problem I have with it is the slight delay (1 second or so) between clicking the pedal on, and the effect actually kicking in. Other than that, this is a SOLID stomp box, and is very versatile.

2Could be better!  Jul 27, 2010 By jetdoc
The Cool Cat was a good sounding pedal but it had 2 discrepancies I did not care for: one was the audible kick it gave in volume when engaged and the other was the half second delay it had between engaging the effect switch and the time the effect actually kicked in. This is unacceptable! I've seen cheapo effects that cost a lot and don't do this!! Spend a little more money for something better; you'll be glad you did!

1Bad Vibe  Apr 04, 2011 By Lawrence L. Graves
The first problem with this pedal is an incessant hum. It is noisy! Next is the famous volume boost we have all heard about. Between the two I found the CV1 Vibe unusable. The Voodoo Lab Micro-vibe is a good choice in the lower dollar range.
I find the Roger Meyer to be the only real Vibe but the cost is prohibitive to most.
Good luck!
