This gives you a near unlimited supply of combinations. Now, you are no longer stuck with only one distortion type in a pedal. But that's not all. There are two outputs, one for normal signal out, and one that features advanced cabinet modeling for live and recording direct-to-board applications. And instead of the standard stompbox tone controls, we've even incorporated our innovative spectral-contouring EQ, which delivers a far greater tone range than other distortion stompboxes. | | | |

Balanced reviewing. Dec 14, 2011
By Takashi Kurita I'm creating this review just for the purpose of balancing out that useless non-review below. A pedal that says "tone driver" shouldn't be bought, or reviewed, by somebody expecting to play thrash-metal. That's not what its intended for, at all.

Digitech XTD Tone Driver Overdrive Guitar Pedal Jun 15, 2011
By SoundSteeler This pedal belongs to TS territory, it is not a distortion but a medium gain overdrive, if you appreciate what an overdrive can do for your rig this is a good one as it can transform the sound from a DOD 250 to a classic TS9 and beyond. It is solidly constructed and looks very durable, as all Digitech gear. Highly recommended as an overdrive or as a booster, if you are looking for a distortion, buy a pedal that says "distortion" on its label, it's that simple...
Pepper..Austin Tx. May 06, 2012

not good Dec 12, 2010
By dusty lee This was the first pedal i bought and i purchased it about 2 years ago. i play hair metal and some heavy and thrash, and this pedal does not work for me. its a well constructed pedal, very tough, but you just cant get an edgy sound outta it. the only thing ive got it work with is some bad company and ac dc. but if you try to get the metallica sound or a guns n' roses, warrant, ratt, or anything with a heavier set guitar range, it just wont work. bar chords sound terrible on it. so now im going to purchase metal zone pedals. not a good pedal in my opinion.
