3Sounds good but with a major flaw  Jun 25, 2010

This unit performs as expected, the controls are easy to use and the sound quality is good. The overdub capability is really cool and the length of memory allows you to build up some really involved loops.

However, the base unit does not have any way to cycle through the stored loops hands-free (unless you play barefoot and can operate the small rotary dial with your toes). This is a major flaw in my opinion, not only for performers who don't want to interrupt their set by bending over between each song but also by anyone who wants to use more than one loop in a song. The lack of ability to cycle through loops hands-free pretty much renders this pedal a novelty rather than a useful tool.

You can buy an external foot-switch that allows you to cycle through loops for about $40 but this should have been built into the base unit, it would have been easy with the dual pedal set-up. Having to pay another $40 (and cluttering up the floor in front of me) for an essential feature is not cool.

5Great gadget  Jun 02, 2010
I play in a duo, and we wanted to expand our sound a bit. This unit allows the rhythm guitarist to take a solo chorus as lead guitarist without the rhythm falling apart. It's very easy to operate, rugged and stage-worthy. We looked at other, newer models but didn't see any features that we needed in them. This one does the trick perfectly. Highly recommended.

5Awesome Looper - BETTER THEN BOSS - Don't Listen to the Nay-Sayers  May 20, 2010
I decided to write this review because my friend is looking to buy a looper, and I recommended the "Jamman". I was surprised to see complaints about the product, as I've used this product heavily for about 4 years, and have never encountered a problem. I have used both the Boss "Loop Station" and the "Jamman" and in my opinion the "Jamman" is the hands down choice. I won't get into what I didn't like about Boss's pedal, but the "Jamman" for what it worth, is very easy to use, has a mic input (which works well and WILL come in handy) and actually records with decent quality. I have actually written entire songs on this thing, (with multiple guitar, vocal and percussion tracks) then plugged it into my computer and converted the recording into an .mp3! I don't do this anymore, as I now have decent home studio gear. Anyways, the beauty of this pedal is that it has a lot more range then just serving as a loop pedal. It works great for recording ideas, and then going back to them later. If your flash card fills up, you can import the .wav files into your computer.

Now to address the nay-sayers. I have used this pedal during performances. It works just fine, but then again, I actually practiced my parts and knew exactly what was going to happen. If this thing works 50 times at home, why would your pre-recorded loop suddenly not work? I think the people who complain about this pedal don't know how to use it properly, which is funny, because it is extremely easy to use. If someone has an issue with corrupted files or loop tracks, I can almost guarantee that the problem is with your flash card, (or you're stupid and are pulling the card while the device is reading from it)

I don't care what kinda musician you think you are. Novice/Pro, Recording/Performing, Poseur/Rock Star. This is an excellent product, and if you have a need for a looping pedal, this is the way to go!!!

5Worth every penny. Wish I had bought one ten years ago!  Apr 19, 2010
This is the best practice tool ever. It's the best equipment purchase I have ever made. I don't know how it compares to the BOSS or other similar items, but I like the fact that it has USB hookup to save tracks to your computer. From what I have read, it has more features, more recording time, higher number of loops (999) than any of the others. The new model now comes with the GIG card standard. That's hours of loops.

I was surprised by how rugged it feels. It weighs a ton. Compared to other pedals it seems to be built like a tank. I do not like that the power adapter is 9v AC. Most other pedals are DC current, so I can't power the Jamman with the power supply I use to power all my other pedals.

I have been playing for about 15 years, mostly acoustic, rhythm electric and bass. I've never been good a improv but over the past few years started working on it. The going has been very slow to say the least. I've been learning a new lick here and there from youtube. I thought about buying some backing tracks to jam with, but I am cheap and wanted to get the most for my money.

The Jamman is totally worth every penny. If I had this thing ten years ago I would be Eric Clapton by now. Ok maybe not, but compared to where I am now I would be.

I improved more in a few hours with the Jamman than in months of learning licks from youtube. Not that the licks didn't help. I will continue to learn a lick or so every day, but you have to be able to put it all together and have a rhythm to work off of. If you have the skills to lay down just about any rhythm you would need, this is the jamming practice tool for you. Get it yesterday. Use it every day. You will be amazed.

No I do not work for or am in any associated with the company. I just was blown away with what an excellent purchase I had made. They really should give me commission for this review though :)

4Where's the Problem ?  Mar 03, 2010
I was reluctant to pull the trigger on this one. So many reviews slammed it and I didn't want to get burned too. But it advertised to do some important tasks that I could really put to use. I have had my Jamman for a couple of months and although I have not used the vocal sampling feature yet, this looper has performed perfectly. There is a slight learning curve on getting your timing right, but any problems I ever had stem form 'operator error"'! The damn thing isn't going to get you on the cover of Guitar Player all by itself. But it will play back what you sample into it. Just another tool in the old Ax man's tool box. But one that will be used and not collect dust like so many others. I was surprised to get the new upgraded 1 gig memory card with mine. Sweet!
