5ebow is a symphony  Aug 04, 2006 By Kenneth A. Gomberg
First, I've been playing guitar for 41 years now. I've been around. In fact, I had the very first ebow.It usually required you to pluck the string slightly and the ebow would continue IF you had it positioned just right. THIS version is effortless, has harmonics and can emulate everything from strings to brass depending how you position it. If you remember Queen's very first albums saying they did not use synthesizers, this is how they made some of their sweet sustains. The list of who uses this item is a virtual Who's Who of rock/ Easy to learn, easy to use.

5Beautiful  Oct 24, 2008 By T. Nield
I have had the eBow for two years. IT IS AWESOME! Using some delay and reverb with an eBow creates tones that sound absolutely beautiful, you can't really describe it. It's very atmospheric and ambient when used creatively with FX. If you've heard U2's "With or Without You", this is what the Edge used to create those sustains for the first minute of the song. This is the underground secret for a lot of artists, including Angels & Airwaves (Star of Bethlehem), Pink Floyd (Take it Back), Linkin Park (No More Sorrow), and even Weird Al Yankovic (Callin' in Sick).

4User needs upgrade  Apr 04, 2009 By Jacob Sylvester "Luther"
I've been intrigued by the theramin-like sound of the Ebow for years, and when I finally saw one used live, decided I needed it. It seems to be fine, but more touchy about positioning than I was expecting. Octave jumps are a little annoying, but I'm sure it's just my technique. Will probably use for occasional instrumental fills in home recordings, but unlikely to use live any time soon.

4Amazing Unit for What it Does!  Mar 20, 2011 By Dr. Bonkers "Dr. Bonkers"
An E-bow is an electromagnetic feedback device to use with a guitar. You can use this to add infinite sustain, note swells, string like bowing, saxophone like blowing, and synth-like arpeggiation depending upon the hand technique & positioning you use.

I had the second generation black w/ red logo E-bow for 20 years before I decided to sell it on Ebay and get this model. My other unit performed like a champ with much use both in guitar and bass work.

I decided to upgrade to the "Plus" version due to the high harmonic mode that my version did not have. It is interesting because that mode basically doubles the rate of electromagnetic vibration so that the feedback sounds an octave higher than normal mode.

Other than that mode, the only other differences between the two units is the weight/thickness of the plastic and the two mode switch. My original Ebow felt like it was made of a heavier grade ABS plastic. I guess to cut costs and weight, they went with a lighter grade plastic. So far, after 6 months of use, the E-bow plus shows no signs of cracking or damage, so I guess the plastic is not as big of a concern as I thought it might be. The switch feels a little less substantial, but it has held up under use, so again I guess it is not as big an issue as I might have thought.

If you take the time to woodshed on it, you can really do some creative things with this tool.
