Elixir Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone! Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great three to five times longer than ordinary strings. Gauges: 010, 013, 017, 026w, 036w, 046w | | | |

Best Strings EVER! May 03, 2008
By Matthew Brown

These are the best strings ever. I've tried almost every string on the market, and these are by far my favorite. They sound great and last forever. Believe the hype...they really DO last FAR longer than any other strings, and they sound great while doing it.
Many other strings will sound great for a short while, but as soon as they get "gunked up", they lose any brilliance and tone, and become dead sounding. Not these. They will sound great for the life of the string. In fact, the only way I know to change them eventually is not because they stop sounding good (which they don't), but because I'll start having intonation problems and I know the strings need to be changed. Normal wear and tear does that, but these strings last SO long.
I've tried the polyweb strings from Elixir as well, but I didn't like those at all. To me, they didn't FEEL right. Sticky or something (not like your fingers stick to the strings, but like you could tell they were coated). With the Nanowebs, they sound AND feel like regular strings, but last forever. The only string I'll use.

Love them Feb 14, 2010

Used a lot of strings (GHS, Fenders, Yamaha, D'Addario, Slinkys), by far the Elixir NanoWeb sounds best among them. They surly last a lot longer.
ALL STRINGS SOUND GREAT AT FIRST, they just have to. However, the Elixers do sound better in my opinion. They have a nicer cool mellow tone.

Still feeling new Jul 05, 2010
By all320 My son bought these for his Steinberger, in hopes of saving money on strings. I can't tell you how pleased he is with these. For my son, regular strings have always started to feel "crummy" after only a week of playing, because of the build up of sweat and dirt. And that's with him taking the time to clean his strings. With these strings, weeks after putting them on, he says they still feel new. He's says they literally feel like he just put them on yesterday. Whatever miracle coating they use on these strings certainly works. My son likes them so much, he's getting ready to buy these for all of his guitars. This are great strings and well worth the price.

Excellent sound Nov 17, 2008

Excellent sound coming from these strings even with age. However I've had three incidents of either being on stage or radio where one of the strings broke on me. Sound quality +10, reliability +4. I love how they sound so I record with them, I just don't trust them when I'm performing live.

Good, with a few drawbacks Feb 08, 2008
By Alerius I like elixir's strings for my travel guitar. They're very resilient and don't corrode easily giving them a long life and low maintenance I look for when on the road. However, as far as tone goes, though they aren't bad they could be better. But I guess that's what you get for strings that last as long as these babies.
