Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Elixir Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone! Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great three to five times longer than ordinary strings. Gauges: 011, 014, 018, 028w, 038w, 049w

5Excellent Guitar Strings  Oct 21, 2009 By James Pickrell "Jim Pickrell"
It's not the guitar that makes the sound, it's the string. The string is what is vibrating and the instruments just resonates. So what I am saying is that it is worth buying good strings. Elixir Nanoweb strings are supposed to last longer due to a waterproof coating. But the main this is that the sound quality is excellent. Any guitar pro will tell you, these are great strings.

5Love these things  Dec 02, 2008 By Midgen21
I love Elixir strings. They sound great, stay in tune, and last forever.

I have very most/oily skin, and can go through a set of non-coated strings in a week with heavy playing, even with wiping down the strings after each session.

With the coated elixirs, my string life is extended significantly, not to mention the tuning stability, and terrific sound.

Love em...

5great strings!  Feb 05, 2011 By jimmyd
These are well built strings. I own 3 high end PRS guitars and these are the best i have used. The bright sound lasts. I hardly ever broke these strings and i use 2mm sharp jazz picks and play jazz to progressive metal. I had one bad set and contacted elixir corp. And got a response within mins. They sent me 2 free packs and a set of single high e strings. The customer service is awesome. I have been using elixrs for 5 years. To the reviewer who had all strings break while tuning probably had a bad bridge. A bad bridge on your guitar will cause premature string breakage because the sharp edges will weaken the string. If you do not string the guitar properly it will break. If anyone here gets a bad set, email elixir corp. Their customer service is great. They really care about customer loyalty and satisfaction. They stand behind their products. Martin, ernie ball, dea markley and many string brands i have tried never replied to me when it comes to defective sets. Elixir really is the best. The higher price is worth it cause these strings really last 3 times longer even with consistent gigging and long nights.

5class A product  May 03, 2010 By Sarah Perelmutter "perelmutter07"
everything one wants in strings- crisp sound, tone gets warmer after two months, after these strings are on you really only need to change strings once to twice a year- a huge savings

5I LOVE these strings  May 08, 2012 By nette
These are my favorite brand of strings. When i was a beginner a few years back these were the 1st strings i bought on my electric (since i used them on my acoustic) And i have to say, elixir is my favorite brand of strings. They last long, are easy to tune, & have a nice bright sound & if you take proper care of them (wipe them down when your done playing, keep the guitar in your gig bag when your not using it, ETC.) that bright sound can last about 6 MONTHS OR MORE!! i usually just buy about two sets a year & im a HEAVY player i play about 2-7 hours EVERYDAY. I love the coating aswell but the medium gauge & up usually don't have that other coating you can get on the light gauge strings, but overall these strings are awesome & are a must buy for every guitarist!
