Redesigned for a truer vintage tone. Reverse engineered from a coveted '63 vintage Strat, these pickups deliver the original vintage Strat sound. The staggered, beveled edge Alnico 5 magnets with Formvar magnet wire produce glistening highs and warm lows that are unmistakably vintage. This is the tone. OEM on American Vintage Stratocasters.

5great sound  Aug 29, 2009 By Ted Barrett
Good sound - the middle is NOT reverse wound/reverse polarity so when selecting position 2 or 4 there is no hum canceling. There is also none of the drop in volume found in modern strats.

To eliminate the noise I expected I completely shielded the cavity and pickguard with copper foil. The grounds were strengthened and moved to a single point (no solder to pots)

There is no noise at all until the vol pot is opened up above 8 - then it is just kind of warm - no microphonic squeals at all - don't see a need to wax the pickups.

Great vintage tone - clear bell/piano like tones - using a 30watt tube - this is the sound I was after

5Classic Stratocaster Sound  Feb 10, 2011 By John H. Hamrin
After experimenting with pickups for many years, I finally have settled on the 57/62 pickups for my perfect classic Stratocaster sound. I found that Custom Shop 69, Custom Shop Fat 50's and Texas Specials all have a specialized sound, whereas the 57/62 pickups can handle just about everything from blues to rock. They sound great both clean and with overdrive. Pickup sound is a matter of opinion of course. If you want to sound like SRV, Jimi Hendrix or David Gilmour, keep searching, but if you want to grow up and work on your own tone, try these.

4Great purchase  Feb 05, 2012 By Leonhard
I bought this for my Ibañez Rx guitar, a 13 yr old guitar made in Korea. I changed all the pot's and wiring (i added one extra tone),she is totally different now. This pick ups provides clear and bright tones. Excellent for this price, and if you have a basic idea of wiring, easy to install.

5Strat's Incredible! (PICKUP The Pieces)  Jan 06, 2012 By StratLover
I have a MIM Strat that had stock pickups in it and the tone was good....but lacked that certain something. I wanted to change the pups and so I did a LOT of research on different brands and styles of single coils, and saw these on Youtube and was BLOWN AWAY! I bought a set from Amazon and got them installed and to my surprise they sounded even better in person.I could definitely hear the difference between these and the stock pickups. I love that vintage tone that these pups give you. If you're looking to upgrade your sound, try these out. You Won't be disappointed! You don't have to pay big bucks on an American Strat, and by the way, (and I'm not an Amazon employee. LOL!) Amazon has the cheapest prices on these that I've seen. Go get yours NOW!!! :o)

5These are GREAT pickups!  Nov 29, 2011 By John Barry
I have 54's, I have classic Vibes, Tex Mex, a fat strat H/S/S and a Surf guitar with unknown mid-60's pickups. I have so many Alnico 5's. I like these the most. I don't yet have them but plan on buying them and putting them in one of my strats as my brother did. Now here's the thing. He had his pickguard reverse cut on the bridge and put the bridge in backwards. I don't know if that's why but it has the best bridge sound I've heard on any strat.

I have an Eric Johnson, and it IMHO it beats that too. I need to try '69's and Texas Specials, but barring that I have or am well acquainted with the major Fender pickups. These are my favorites.

I have NOW bought and installed these pickups. They are TRULY amazing. I changed the wiring so that I can get so many wonderful tones out of my guitar. These pickups can do anything. A friend told me they're only for 3 way. Nope. I get 5 way beautiful tones. I reversed the bridge, as my brother did, and routed the guitar, and it's amazing. I love these pickups and yes, my fingers hurt. :)
