Hercules EZ-SAFE band instrument stands are designed in response to the disturbing complaint that expensive wind instruments fall off ordinary stands. Choose EZ-SAFE stands and put to rest any worries you have about placing valuable instruments on a stand. Extensive research has been done to make sure Hercules band instrument stands provide the kind of solid support you've been looking for. The Hercules DS561B Bassoon / Bass Clarinet Stand features a multi-functional yoke and base rest that allow you to place the instrument facing towards or away from the stand, for easier access. The base rest securely holds the bass clarinet even with the floor peg extended. The lever height adjuster positions the yoke to accommodate different bass clarinet and bassoon placements so you can choose the one that is right for you. The swivel legs feature locking pins and are easy to fit around other equipment. Peg hole on leg lets you store another instrument without using extra floorspace. Height: 670-1010 mm (26.4-39.8"). 5Hercules DS561B Stand  Oct 17, 2010 By Philip W. Scofield
This stand is by far the best one I've found for the money. It's really solidly built, and has padding in all the right spots. It also accommodates Bass Clarinets with either low Eb or the low C extension. The bottom part that the bell rests on is made of synthetic rubber material that grips the instrument, but does not scratch the instrument. The top section is much wider than it needs to be though, so it's a good idea to rest your bass clarinet on the bell... not on the end peg. This makes it less likely to move around. It also fits Bassoons and some Alto Clarinets.

5Hercules Bassoon/Bass Clarinet Stand  Jan 18, 2012 By drummermike
I am a percussionist and have been all my life. But I have also always loved the bassoon. It is the most beautiful instrument in the orchestra. Three months ago I began lessons on the bassoon. I am certain I have done things in my life that were more difficult; I just can't remember right off what they were. At any rate, one learns rather quickly that a stand is indispensable. After checking local and web vendors, I decided to purchase this stand, primarily for the cost. I found it is quite easy to spend considerably more for this item. It works well for my bassoon, however it is now holding my wife's bass clarinet at the community theater where we are currently presenting "Oliver". I recommend this stand for its security, ease of handling, and cost.

Having had an opportunity to use the stand for awhile, I must revise my initial review. One day I found my instrument on the floor. It had fallen from the stand because the rubber underneath the cup which holds the base of the bassoon had cracked, causing the cup to collapse and allowing the bassoon to slip out of the cup and hit the floor. The instrument was not damaged. I contacted Hercules and was sent a new cup. That's all well and good, but I expect the same failure will recur. My ingenious father-in-law had a better solution; he crafted a replacement from a sink plunger. No mishaps since then.

5Excellent Bassoon Stand  Jan 30, 2011 By David J. Ross
The Hercules is an excellent bassoon stand. It's rugged, extremely stable, and compact. I've even used it in a pinch for contrabassoon while in the opera pit. It's the best I've seen.

5Go Hercules!  Dec 13, 2011 By katvi
The Hercules is well-made, strong, and solid - it can support a wood bassoon with no trouble. The legs fold in for easy travel. The vertical support is adjustable, as is the length of the leg that holds the support cup for the base. We are very happy with the price and quality. My daughter's bassoon teacher was also very impressed, and she has seen many stands.

5Nice Stand  Dec 06, 2011 By Gunn3r
Got this for my wife for her Bassoon. You don't want to place a $4000 + instrument on the ground when your not using it, you also don't want to lean it on the side of your chair. This stand is fully adjustable and easy to carry. It offers a sturdy, Safe place to hold your investment.
