The Duo Stand is designed to safely hold two guitars or basses. Hercules hanging stands with Automatic Grip System (AGS) are a fantastic solution for many instruments. Since the stability is at the headstock, a hanging stand can accommodate a wide variety of instruments that would not be sturdy in a cradle stand. This particular model is outfitted with the Auto Grab System, a quick release hand clutch and two single point tee rest to accommodate non-traditional guitar shapes.

5When your guitars absolutely positively need to stay put  Dec 26, 2010 By bisticles
If you've used the small tubular "lean back" style guitar stands before, then you know about their shortcomings. For one, even with the guitar "strapped in", it's very easy to bump a guitar forward, causing the entire unit to tip over. This is even more of a problem in double guitar holders, where the guitars can't "lean" quite as much without bumping headstocks. Perhaps more importantly, the cheap stands use a type of plastic in the padding that can react with Nitrocellulose finishes, causing the lacquer to wear away.

The Hercules stands go about holding your guitar in a different way; by grabbing it at the headstock. The weight-driven head catches the guitar, bringing out two retaining fingers when pressed down. This should be sufficient to keep it from jumping out if bumped. The overall height of the stand is adjustable with a nice base-mounted grip, so you don't have to screw and unscrew an adjuster. There are horizontal bar pads at the bottom that keep the guitar from banging against the metal base, and also keep the guitar from "twisting" out of the claw. Despite its wide stance, it folds up just as quickly to about the size of a small microphone stand. The claws fold down, the bars fold up, and the entire unit collapses down.

Lastly, I just want to point out how big the stand is. The three feet are very wide, which provides a solid base for what would otherwise be a very topheavy stand. Because the guitars hang straight up and down, it does not become lopsided or prone to tilt when holding only one guitar. I'm not willing to sacrifice a guitar for the sake of testing, but it seems like it would take a very big force to knock a stand like this over.

The stand is very well thought out and nicely designed. It sets up much more quickly than the typical lean-back tubular frame style stand, and will hold your guitars much more securely.

5Nice stable support for guitars....  May 01, 2012 By 35-year Technology Consumer "8-tracks to 802.11"
...and other instruments in your string band.

One member of our household is a long-term bass player, who has upgraded her main instrument as her skills have improved. Others in the house have history of dabbling in acoustic guitars and banjos (a history that is sadly spotty, and therefore requires a LOT of "stand time").

This stand is very stable, and easy to put up or take down. Height adjustment is made easy with a spring loaded lever (an improvement over models that require a knob to be turned). The top locking mechanism closes its grip at the headstock, secured my the weight of the instrument it holds.

This stand works excellently with jazz style bass bodies and other non-traditional shapes, and easily accommodates our mix of bass electric, electric bass and acoustic guitars...and a banjo.

Our first choice in stands...

5Well Worth the Price  Jan 21, 2012 By Bringonthebooks
This stand is very well designed and well made. It's very sturdy; I put my "heavy" electric on it and played around; you'd really have to smack it hard at the top of the stand to topple the thing, even unbalanced with only one guitar on it. The stand's feet take up about a 2x2 foot square, you might need a bit more room if your guitars are very large. Sets up and folds down very quickly and easily. Putting your guitar in the stand is just like handing it to someone -- it's that quick and easy. I love it!

5Great Guitar Stand  Feb 05, 2010 By Daniel R. Fuller "Gospel Songwriter"
This stand folds up well and takes very little space. It is made very solid and holds both guitars very well. I was very impressed and highly recommend it.

5AWESOME STAND!  Jan 09, 2012 By Sean
This stand is great! I love the Hercules clamp that locks your guitar from falling off... and the adjustable back rest is very flexible and can be used with just about any guitar. The stand is extremely sturdy as well! The price is a bit high, but it is definately worth it in my opinion!
