Great for the price Mar 06, 2011

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R202LU0NXEPG5D This was my first wooden recorder and it was great value for money. It sounds so much better than the plastic recorders, even the good ones such as the Yamaha 300 series. Pity it doesn't come with a better bag or case. It is just a transparent plastic bag but the recorder is well worth the price. You should also remember that wooden recorders require extra care. If you are just buying a recorder for a young kid, you're better off with the plastic ones.

Nice recorder, good value. Feb 22, 2009
By Spaceapeman This recorder has a nice design, more streamlined than the typical recorder. It plays in tune, and sounds as good as my more expensive plastic recorder. All the notes can be hit, and the smell and taste of the wood add to the experience. It is made in China not Germany but it is handsomely made. Would be excellent for people who want a wood recorder for period reenactments. Well worth the cost, I plan on buying another as a back up.

My 13-yrs old daughter wanted a better recorder than the cheap plastic one she had for several years. I decided to go with this wood recorder and have not been disappointed. I also bought her a teach yourself recorder book and she has been playing some beautiful music. This was a great purchase!

Very Nice Jan 30, 2010
By G. DuBois I purchased this recorder for my nine year old daughter as a Christmas gift. She did not specify a recorder made of wood, but I thought it was a nice step-up without being too pricey. It is beautiful, sounds nice, and she loves to tell her friends that it came from Germany. It is a beautiful instrument to look at and to hear.

Very nice Jan 05, 2011
By J. Call This recorder plays well. It comes with detailed instructions on how to care for it, and helpful advice on how to begin. It takes a few short practices of 15 minutes over a couple days for it's true sound to develop since it is made of wood rather than plastic. It's a classy recorder for a great price. It's packaging could be better, the plastic sleeve it came in is broken at the bottom and we will have to find another way to store it.
