5Very Good Quality Violin Stand  Aug 03, 2006 By History Buff
I ordered this violin stand via Amazon from Johnson String Instruments. The company does an excellent job with shipping the items quickly.

This violin stand is top notch. I don't think you could improve on the design. It adjusts for the height of your instrument and the bow hook also adjusts to various heights. It folds quickly and compactly so you can tuck it out of the way if necessary or of course is terrific for carrying with you.

Excellent violin stand. Highly recommend both the stand and the Johnson String Instrument company.

4Good stand  Mar 16, 2008 By Mike
Very solid construction. Folds flat and small, but not as convenient as the Hercules violin stand with travel bag. No place to put your rosin either.
Works great for a mandolin too. I loop my strap over the bow holder to make it easier to pick up!

5Should have bought two  Apr 30, 2009 By N Nelson
I recently bought two different stands for a musical production I performed in. I used this stand for my violin and was extremely pleased with it. I felt very confident that my violin would be secure once I set it down. I cut corners and spent a little less on a different stand that was not as well designed (and was cheaper) for my mandolin and was extremely disappointed. Lesson learned.

5Great Investment  Mar 29, 2010 By Shere
This is a sturdy stand that helps me feel that my violin is safe standing alone in the stand. I have used other violin stands that I felt the violin would just fall off and cause damage to the instrument. This stand has great safety lock to ensure the violin will stay in the stand and has good padding on the resting pegs so it does not scratch the instrument.
Well worth the investment to know that my instrument is safe.

1BEWARE! Chinese stand FELL APART! - Ingles says I'm SOL  Jan 08, 2012 By Mike "Humans are people too."
I've two of these stands. On one of them, the base part of the tubing has lost its tack weld. If you carefully separate the pie slice shaped black foam from the base of the stand, you'll see that the base of the tubing is welded there. Mine lost its weld, so the tubing is not secure to the grey base - they separate - I was left holding the tubing while the grey base fell to the floor!
UPDATE: 1/9/12 GLEN INGLES REFUSES TO REPLACE OR REPAIR THE STAND. BEWARE! ...and you should be aware that the stand is assembled in..............wait for it................China. That may explain why it failed, but Glen Ingles could have offered to replace it. I guess he doesn't want me to buy any more of his products, or refer others to his products. Well, that's his policy. That's okay, he's got competition, and I'll be purchasing from them instead.
