It has since become the most popular hand percussion instrument ever created! Constructed using endless loops of steel bead chain wrapped around a specially textured, stainless steel cylinder. Wooden flanges enclose the cylinder and a wooden handle is attached to the bottom. This instrument is designed to create rhythmic scraping sounds and patterns. The beads can be rotated around the textured steel or the instrument can be spun or shaken for varying sounds. | | | |

perfect little cabasa Jan 11, 2012
By J J VIBRATO This was my choice because of size, and brand LP. It's light weight, and perfect for near vocal mic . five Stars

Just the right size Sep 16, 2011
By NY Shopper I've had the large version of this for a long time and after a while, my arm gets tired. This is much lighter and easier on my arm - but the sound still cuts through with no problem.
What a cool little device Mar 30, 2012

I head a small quartet (I'm on trumpet/flugelhorn), and a keyboardist, vocalist, and drummer fill out the quartet. When we perform Bossa and other Latin tunes I wanted something to use to add a little rhythm enhancement other than just shaking eggs. This Cabasa fits the bill perfectly. It can create a variety of sounds, it's easy to learn to use almost immediately, and I'm very happy with it. Well worth the price!
