Nice light strings Apr 06, 2011
By G. Hanson These are not a heavy string for good play on a bluegrass style instrument. No chop with these.
I do like these strings on my flat top oval hole mando. These are quite responsive with a lighter touch, Celtic/Irish music is nice.
While I am certain I will purchase these again I must say that I have had bad luck with the E strings, they seem to break very easily. They seemed to do better when I brought them to light tension and let them sit overnight to stretch before tuning to pitch.

Quick delivery at a fair price Dec 31, 2011
By Vanman Martin strings are good quality consistent with many years of production and use. The sound is a bit harsh on my Kentucky-630 mandolin but while I prefer a more mellow sound these strings do the job quite nicely.

nice strings, easy to play Feb 25, 2011
By E. Mendoza nice strings, lighter. easy to install. gives a lighter sound than I was used to but it works :)
sounds great!***** May 20, 2012
By Tim D. Lewis I have been learning the art of Luther skills. I had a 1920's stella mandolin that with a little work would be a player. This being a older instrument that would normally take light strings I chose the best Martin lights. I set the neck adjusted my mandolin and strung it with my Martin strings. It was a success and sounded great!***** Although I Understand scales arpeggios and triads (1-3-5) AUGMENTED AND DEMINISHED as well as the theory of the guitar. I could not play! The strings were great but my 100 year old mandolin is yet to be played properly.
Nice light strings May 17, 2012
By CJ Changed to these on a new mandolin. Much easier on the fingers and they sound really bright. I use similar strings on my guitars also and have not found any thing else that I prefer playing.
