5Great tuner!  Nov 07, 2009 By Jerome N. Scott
I play guitar in a number of different tunings. I may go through as many as five or six different tunings during the course of a performance so tuning is crucial. I have tried other tuners such as the Intellitouch and Tunetech tuners which I found adequate, but still left something to be desired in terms of locking into certain notes etc. I bought this tuner to run plugged into the tuner out on my pre-amp. Right out of the box, I was impressed by this tuner's note recognition. It recognized my 1/2 step up, CGCGCD tuning with absolutely no difficulty. The simulated VU meter is very smooth and realistic and is combined with red and green LEDs and an indicator on the left side of the display that gives the discrepency in pitch in cents. If you can't figure it out with all that, your situation is hopeless! The display is also nicely backlit to make visibilty easy on dark stages. There are only two modes: manual and auto, but it does generate pitch with a little speaker. The only thing I would like is on/off via footswitch, but, for the price, I'll take it as is. Wonderful! Way less money than TU-2 or Pitch Black and only a little more than the similar Korg. The large, BACKLIT display makes it worth that.

5Like the non skid feature. Easy to use  Mar 04, 2010 By Bo "bo"
I use it on my Chinese musical instrument and it worked fine. The dimension of it is about 4.5 x 3 x 1/2 inch thick. The non skid feature makes it very easy to use. I can put it on a music stand or anywhere and don't have to worry if it'll fall. The size and the texture of the buttons (non-skid) are user friendly. I wear picks on my hands and have no trouble pressing it. If the tuner stand is included, that would be great (It doesn't really have a stand attach to the tuner. They just provide a slit for you to insert a gift card or something to stand it up)

5A Cut Above Most  Sep 01, 2011 By K. Beach "KRB"
Over the years, I've literally owned dozens of electronic tuners...generally five or six at a time in various locations...ranging from a $12 Musiciansfriend promotional item to a $200 rack mount. Most have been in the $30 range from Sabine, Yamaha, Korg, and Seiko. The Seiko SAT800E is my all time favorite because, like Mama Bear in the fairy tale, it affordably splits the difference between "too small" and "too big". It stays put on the floor when I run it inline between my guitar/bass/uke and my amp and its LCD display is large enough to be legible when I'm standing. At the same time, it neatly fits in my ukulele case. Beyond that, it simply does what good electronic tuners do, accurately and without fanfare. Bravo.

5Nice  Mar 03, 2010 By Scholasticus
Despite the 1970's styling, this unit does the job. Very accurate. I like the manual mode. Select the note you are aiming for and then tune. Handy for tuning a half step down, etc.

5Excellent range  Oct 25, 2011 By splinterhood
I have always had difficulty with tuners differentiation of octaves. For example, a low E would read as A or D, and a low B wouldn't even register. This one is quick and reliable. 5-string bass and 7-string guitar are easy now. The back-lit display is super cool, now I don't have to find a light when I am onstage. This is a good reliable tuner.
