5Best Clip-on tuner yet.  Nov 27, 2010 By AmazonBuyer
It fits on the guitar well.
It has good contact areas that won't mar the guitar's finish.
It has an articulated arm that allows it to be placed on any guitar in a readable position, without interfering with the tuning knobs.
It has a clear, well thought out display.
The display is very readable in any light level.
It immediately responds to any note.
It immediately responds to any change in pitch.
It's pitch resolution is excellent.
It's pitch indication is accurate.
It has a visual metronome feature. (I don't use it, but it's a nice little extra.)
It's inexpensive.
Aesthetically, it's not the prettiest tuner, but since it works so well, I don't really want to call it ugly.
You get the picture. I like it a lot.

4Nicer than the Intelli tuner  Dec 08, 2010 By RobertHD
This is my favorite clip on tuner. It's colorful display is easy to read even without my reading glasses. It's note tracking is stable and faster than on the Intelli. Nothing rattles when you play so you can leave it on your guitar. The only downside is that it doesn't fold up flat against the headstock so you may have to remove it when you put your guitar in it's case.

5works great on upright bass  Aug 26, 2010 By Jeff Eyrich
I was given one of these to try with my upright bass and immediately loved it. It's the first clip on tuner I've used that actually works with an upright bass. I've got it with me out here on the road and it has worked perfectly every night. I love everything about it. The display is easy to read with the tuner clipped on the bridge. It makes tuning my bass way quicker than my previous tuner, the Boss TU-2.

5Great Little Tuner.  Dec 25, 2010 By Softball Daddy
16 year professional musician in the Seattle, Wa area.

I purchaced this tuner because I was curious. So I tuned my bass, then my guitar to my korg rack mount tuner. I checked the instruments to the Snark, and they were dead on. I randomly flicked the tuning keys around, and tuned using the snark, then checked with the korg dtr2000 and it was again a match.

(This is normally not the case between two brands of tuner)

I then turned up the bass and had my son play billy jean (michael jackson) through my live stack, and attempted to tune my heritage guitar. The walls and floor were vibrating, but the tuner still responding very quickly to the notes I plucked on the guitar.

I moved the snark from the center of the headstalk to the bottom of the guitar's head (on the neck furthest away from the top(Low E)string) and still saw no hesitation.

I was amazed that there were no issues, it was quick to respond. Again on check with the rack mount tuner the snark was dead on with the korg again.

I then repeated this process with my jazz bass, and the kid played some moody kid song at top volume through the mesa boogie, and through all this I experienced no issue with the tuner, regardless of position on the headstalk.

I then tuned the bass down to C. No issues. Again a match on the korg.

I am very impressed, For out of the box functionality this little tuner is a gem.

I have not tried to drop it or bang it around in my case, but I was completely impressed with its accuracy and quick response, ( quicker then my rack tuner ) under conditions that seem to confound the other clip on tuners.

I have ordered 2 more to use live, I also ordered spare batteries.

Great job snark.

J.

4Economical, dependable, low-profile and attractive.  Nov 14, 2010 By lake mom
I searched a while for a reasonable clip-on tuner for a while and fell upon this one with excellent results.
As you normally spend only a couple of seconds using a tuner on-stage or off, before switching it off to play, why would you HAVE TO spend 20, 35, 40 or more dollars on this when there's got to be a more economical alternative"? If I'm looking for 'status' symbol -geez!- I can spend my money on other things. Pfffft!
Let's face it, all clip-on tuners work on the same pricipal and they are all equally dependable and accurate (the fact is that the instrument, itself, having it's own vibrational issues and overtones, is more the culprit of off-pitch vibrations nad input to these things. So don't blame the tuner for inherent issues of an instrument it doesn't and can't discern!).
I liked this little tuner so much, I bought a second one right away for a different guitar - then, suggesting it to tons of other people on my mailing lists that have a need for a tuner and suddenly there is a scad of these around me.
I definately like it, it's pretty darn cute, and will probably grab a bunch for stocking stuffer's besides!
Kudos to the Snark people for a great product and special thanks to Eclectic Warehouse!
