 Really helpful for son playing percussion Sep 26, 2009

My son has severe tics/Tourette's and needed effective ear plugs that would allow him to successfully play percussion in the school marching band, without "dimming" too much of the sound.
These are the best he's used, and for that we are grateful.

I got these for concerts since they supposedly keep frequency response flat. However, that wasn't the case; I'd say that they cut 2x more into the treble than the mid/bass frequency range. Intuitively this is what you'd expect from ear plugs, but since they are advertised as preserving sound quality I view it as a negative.
Other than that they fit great and do a great job reducing noise.

I purchased these to go to rock concerts and they work beautifully. I tried another brand but these ones are the best. After concerts I don't have 'sore ears' anymore thanks to these.

I used this for the first time at band practice and I was pleased to be able to hear all the other band instruments and vocals while I played the drums. I was better able to balance my dynamics with the rest of the band. I used to wear regular ear plugs and was unsure if I played too loud or soft. If you're a drummer and play rock, this is the way to go. ( save your hearing )
